645 Prospect Crescent, Pasadena, CA – $5.95 Million
4 bed, 4 bath, 4230 square feet. Known as The Millard House, it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and was “the first residence to utilize Wright’s highly inventive textile block building system.” Funny that Wright thought concrete was ugly (which it is if you Plain Jane it.) There is a slew of information on Wikipedia. Aerial view can be seen here.
5423 Black Oak Dr, Los Angeles, CA – $2.595 Million

Lloyd Wright’s 1rst important house for mother of his second wife, actress Helen Taggert. House & gardens showcase the emphasis on the dramatic: minutely worked out arrangement of house & garden on a hillside lot overlooking Fern Dell Park is stunning. Distinctive art deco motif-geometric forms, horizontal banding & elaborate art-glass window on the south elevation. In 2006, Lloyd Wright’s son, Eric Lloyd Wright completed an extensive remodel & won Meliora Award for for Best Restoration in 2006.
370 Beech Street, Highland Park, IL – $2.3 $1.8 Million
When I first saw this house I was like, “That looks familiar…” then I read the description. Sure enough, this was the house from the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” when Ferris and Cameron are trying to roll back the odometer in the car and it flies through the window. Not my cup of tea, but I guess some like this sort of house.
