558 High St, Petersburg, VA – $699,950
5 Bed, 1.1 Bath, 3434 square feet. Known as The Beasley House, it was headquarters for Robert E. Lee during the Civil War, the cottage outback was used as his office. I thought this was interesting about the Siege of Petersburg. There is a virtual tour available, bigger pics! Aerial view available.

In the book “Civil War Petersburg” by A. Wilson Greene, it was said that “Colonel Walter Taylor selected the residence, the Beasley House, which was vacant at the time. ‘I took possession of a fine house-had his room nicely cleaned out and arranged, with a cheerful fire&c,’ wrote Taylor, but ‘it was entirely too pleasant for him, for he is never so uncomfortable as when comfortable.’ The general shifted quaters to a tent west of town for a short time before returning to the Beasley House.”

28 Little Vine Rd Hillsville, VA – $689,000
4 Bed, 1 Bath, 2736 square feet on 139 acres. Nice views!

13009 Windsor Blvd, Suffolk, VA – $958,400
4 Bed, 1 Bath, 2100 square feet on 87 acres. Known as the Henry Saunders House. The perfect house! So cute! Not overly redone, beautiful bright colors (I find that houses like these, they tend to use really dark colors.) I can only think of two negatives. One: not in the middle of nowhere. For 87 acres, I’d want to be far, far away from people. Two: Price. Y’ouch, way to much for my coin purse.

862 Main St, Danville, VA – $789,000
7 bed, 6 bath, 8287 square feet. Has original chandeliers, stained glass windows, pocket doors and an original dumbwaiter from the basement kitchen to the butlers pantry. Nice street view here.
