A lover, obsessor, dreamer of old homes.

184 Big Creek Rd, Sneedville, TN – $84,500
I’ve spent so much time browsing houses, posting them and day dreaming about these old houses that I forgot about what I REALLY dreamed about doing. Yes, I love looking and daydreaming about Queen Anne’s but my real love is in simple farmhouses. I love the rough floors, tongue and groove (or beadboard) walls and ceilings. I prefer it over ornamentation I guess. I am usually equally in love with the land it is on too. Fields, orchards, gardens, creeks and the barns. If it were really up to me, my perfect house would be surrounded by nothing but land. No neighbors, no convenience stores, no fast food for miles. No people but me, Timmy and Taters (since she thinks she is a person anyway.) Maybe one day, we’ll move to a place that we could actually afford more than 1 acre of land that has an old house on it. Until then, I have to day dream about places like this one.

5.45 acres with two fenced pastures, barn, year round creek, fruit and walnut trees. It also has a 100+/- year old two story farm house in need of renovation and a trailer (to live in while the house is restored.) This would be my ideal place. And, the price isn’t bad either! Did I already mention, it is located in Tennessee, my favorite state!

822 Pennsylvania Ave, Etowah, TN – $34,900
3 beds, 2 baths, 2472 square feet. This house is just a couple of streets down from a house my mom use to live in. I LOVE this town and seriously would move here if I weren’t attached to Timmy. It has so many little (and a few big) old houses, you could spend a good day just walking through this town, looking at all the houses. The downtown strip (best pic is at the bottom of that page) is filled with antique stores and there is the 1906 Etowah Depot that I am totally in love with. A couple of houses that I was so in love with I would have sold a kidney for was the house next door to this one and another one a mile or two down the road that I actually visited and walked all the way around the house, mesmerized by everything about it…still sad about that one (sold for $61,061 a year or so ago.) So, yeah, I’m in love with Etowah, just a bit. :)

Check out the street view for this house.

291 W Deadrick St, Jackson, TN – $59,900
4 bed, 2 bath, 2228 square feet. Looks like this is a 2 unit with 2 kitchens. Check out the street view here. Looks like that little blue house next door is for sale for $16,500.

2507 Boyds Creek Hwy, Sevierville, TN – $595,000
4 bed, 3 bath, 2174 square feet. Sevierville, Tennessee is probably my most favorite town I’ve been to, so far. Well, my favorite when it is the ‘off season’ for the area. This is suppose to be one of the oldest homes in Sevier County. Check out the street view here.

Fun fact for the day, Dolly Parton was born in Sevierville.

Happy 1,000 post!
