1 Linden Place, Natchez, MS – $1.3 Million
9 bed, 8 bath, square feet unavailable. I’ve never been a big bed and breakfast staying kind of gal, but after posting houses like this one, I can’t help but want to visit JUST to see it in person. This is known as Linden Bed and Breakfast. I read on one of the bed and breakfast sites that this house has been in the same family since 1849, don’t know if that was old information or not but found it interesting.
“The earliest part of Linden was built in 1790. It was once the home of US Senator Thomas Reed. Several additions date to 1818,1829, and 1850. It is one of the more important antebellum homes and has been a staple of the Natchez Pilgrimage for decades. The home is centered in a seven acre park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home also operates as a Bed and Breakfast.”
Check out the aerial view here, of the back of the house.

As per the Linden Bed and Breakfast site, “The beauty of Linden was so well known that the front door was copied for “Tara” in Gone With The Wind.”

Here is a shot from “Gone with the Wind” of the door. I really need to rewatch the entire movie just to find a day light shot.

2601 Glendower Ave, Los Angeles, CA – $15 $10.495 Million
4 bed, 5 bath, 6000 square feet. This isn’t my cup of tea, but it is an interesting house. Probably one of the most famous of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs, the Ennis House sits on top of a hill with a view of Los Angeles. It has also been in many movies including the 1959 House on Haunted Hill, The Day of the Locust, Blade Runner, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and many more. Check out the aerial view here.
516 W 6th, Lawrence, KS – $465,000 No longer listed.
4 bed, 2 bath, 3408 square feet. I am very excited to have stumbled upon this home! It was used as a set location for the 1962 movie, “Carnival of Souls“, one of my favorite movies! Find more pics here. Check out the street view here. I went a little wild with posting pics from the listing and stills from the movie.

The master bedroom. Not sure if this is inside another bedroom looking into the master bedroom but they are separated by pocket doors or what. In the movie, Mary’s bedroom was this room and her sitting room was the master bedroom; her bathroom was that closed door shown in the master bedroom.

Sorry not the best quality. This is the master bedroom as shown in the pic above this one.

Oh, no! They got rid of the beautiful old tub! The door seen in the pic above this is to the left of the tub, you just cannot see it in this still.
