1143 Summit Dr, Beverly Hills, CA – $60 Million
I have doubt this house will ever sell for $60 million. I hate to even mention this property was once called “Pickfair“, home to Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, especially seeing as how the Pickfair home was torn down, and this thing was built. The realtor ad acts as if this was THE HOUSE where the Fairbanks lived, but au contraire, it isn’t. Only the gate and a guest house are all that remains of the Pickfair Estate. The ‘new’ house was built in 1991, the style is up for grabs, I decided to categorize it as a mansion. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot, 14 beds, 30 bathrooms, 25243 square feet.

23858 Brush Creek Rd, St. Mary, Missouri – $3.2 Million
Could not find a reliable build date so unsure of age but possibly brand new. This is a very cool Bavarian style Castle. 5 beds, 3.5 baths, square footage unavailable all on 692 acres with a 20 acre lake. Beautifully built from “local materials, carved woods, lead-glass windows, hand-painted ceilings, carved staircases and 3 beautiful fireplaces.” Also has an indoor swimming pool.

115 White Oak Trail, Ball Ground, Georgia – $549,900 $499,900 $439,900
I know I sometimes say, “they don’t build houses like they used to.” Well, if you have the money, have a great architect with an eye for small details, then it can be done even in today’s detail-less world. This house is a reproduction of an old farm house. Say you like the look and character of older homes but do not like the small rooms, small closets (or no closets) found in older homes, then a reproduction house of a period in time when attention to details were the norm would be a good idea for you. 4 beds, 4 baths, square feet unavailable, all on 1 acre. 12″ ceilings, 12 exterior doors, real attention to period detail in this one.

1240 South Manzanita Ave, Palm Springs, CA – $796,000 No longer listed.
I found this house by way of LovelyListings.com blog. I normally do not go around looking for houses through peoples blog, but this house was so unique in decor that I just could not pass up blogging about this one. 4 bed, 4.5 baths, 3250 square feet. This should become a museum to velvet! George Costanza would feel right at home here. Yes, all the furniture and everything else you see here can be yours, for the low low price of $796,000! The listing ad says this home has “velvet walls with vibrant colors of reds, pinks, fuschias and oranges….Bedrooms are canopied, swagged, with gold vein mirrored walls, ceiling to floor drapes…
