11 Shallow Brook Ct Olney, MD – $1.5 Million No longer listed.
5 bed, 4 baths on 2.33 acres. Bet you didn’t guess this was a Sears built home? “Perhaps the largest home built by Sears…” Franklin Roosevelt stayed at this home as it was Harold Ickes home, he was the Secretary of the Interior during Roosevelt’s reign.

198 Old Nelson Rd, Ball Ground, GA – $149,900
2 bed, 1.5 bath on 1 acre. Ad states this is a Sears Kit Home. I have recognized kit homes along my house searches, but there are just so many house plans that it would take forever to find the drawings in the kit books people have made available online that I just post them if the ad says it is a kit house and leave it at that. I’ve been down this road before but there are so many bungalows in my area that sometimes I just don’t remember what is where.

307 Pendleton St, Gordonsville, VA – $249,900 $239,900

A Sears & Roebuck Home! 3 bedroom, 1.5 baths and 1724 square feet.

339 Broad St, Salamanca, NY – $98,500 No longer listed.
I’ve been keeping my eye open for home kits that were popular at the beginning of the 20th Century. There were quiet a few kit home makers, one of the most popular were the Sears Kit Homes. Of course, through the years a house changes and you never know what could have been altered back when it was first built.
