If you’ve not guessed, I have an obsession with old houses but really, it is all houses. Found a quiz on one of my favorite house blogs, HoookedonHouses.net, take it and see how you do. How did I do? Well, let’s see….my answers are highlighted in blue.
1. If there’s a “For Sale” sign in my neighborhood, I can tell you how much they’re asking for their house, and whether it’s worth it. This one is so me. We’ll be driving along, I’ll see a house and can tell you what year it was built, how much it is selling for and if that is a decent price, possibly the history or even if the price was reduced since it was put up for sale. Timmy is unimpressed with my skills. 
2. I have a habit of checking the real estate listings online, even though I’m not planning to move. Obviously.
3. I think the best time to take a walk is at dusk–after people have started turning on their lights, but before they have closed their blinds! A habit of mine, although I don’t walk because that is a little too peeping-jane for me, I do it while Timmy is driving.
4. I like to visit Open Houses and model homes, just for fun. Did that only once, it was an entire subdivision of open houses.
5. I will stop to take a photo of a beautiful house if I have a camera with me. Too many times to count.
6. When I visit someone’s home, I immediately start looking around to see what changes they’ve made since the last time I was there. This is so-so, since I don’t visit any ones homes that often.
7. I get upset when I see a beautiful old home that looks neglected and unloved, and I fantasize about “rescuing” it. Hmmm….don’t think I’ve ever done that before in my entire life! (end sarcasm.)
8. I have considered or have been told I should be a real estate agent, architect, or decorator. Once or twice.
9. I like to check out the local house listings when I’m traveling to see how much it would cost to live there–and then fantasize about either buying a vacation home or moving there for good. Timmy (and probably my mom) can attest to this one.
10. I can name my favorite paint colors–or the ones I used in my house–off the top of my head. Nope, this one I cannot do.
