Or maybe just an obsession with houses. When I was little, I remember grabbing those real estate magazines you see in front of convenience stores or when you are walking out of the grocery store. I would cut out the houses I liked and paste them on a piece of paper. I don’t know why other than I just liked looking and dreaming about them. This was pre-internet days. Now I have all the houses I want to see at the tip of my fingers. How great is that?
So why this blog? Well, I frequent old house forums and always love looking at peoples homes. And it always seems that most forums do not allow real estate postings of homes. While I do find a few antique or historic home sites featuring listings of historic homes, I don’t find listings of regular, non-historic but just old homes. So what is a girl to do that loves to just stare and day dream about old homes but have to do so by going to a million websites to browse through thousands of listings? Nothing much to do except spend time browsing and browsing and browsing. And then what? I just sit and stare and wish I had someone to talk to about the house, to day dream with. I usually will email my mom a big list and say, “Look at this!” I think I’m driving her nuts showing her all of these homes!
I had a dream last night about blogs and old houses. Don’t remember much of it, I think the old homes were trying to eat me because I woke up a little creeped out and couldn’t go back to sleep. Then it occured to me to just start a blog with pictures of houses that I find for sale. Instead of driving mom crazy or seeing a house, staring at it for five minutes and day dream, then forget about the house, I’ll just blog about it. Isn’t that a simple thought? We’ll see. I post whatever house is unique, stylish and usually preference over houses that need a little TLC.
So here goes. Hopefully I’m not tramping on illegalities when I post pictures of homes. Let the day dreams begin!
