Old House Dreamer

A lover, obsessor, dreamer of old homes.

122 S. Center St., Beavertown, PA – $35,000 $25,000

I would give my left back tooth to see what the inside of this house looks like, despite being empty for Lord knows how long. Apparently the roof has leaked for a while, so would need a ton and a half of work. 4 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and a hair ball over 2000 square feet. Real estate ad said build date is estimate.

2/8/10 Edit: I was going through past posts to do updates when I noticed that the listing ad has been updated to say this house needs to be torn down due to water damage. I thought it was sad that the house was allowed to sit for such a long time and now is in such bad condition. I hope someone will come along and instead of tearing her down will restore her.

9145 Sunnybrook Dr, Somerset, VA – $1.349 Million
4 bed, 3 bath, 5623 square feet on 30.1 acres. I think someone went a little haywire with Photoshop tweaking the colors. Otherwise, this is a lovely, charming house in an equally enchanting setting.

4 beds, 2 baths, 2,168 square feet. Check out the street view here.

Another oldie, coming back to you from May ‘09. I thought this one deserved a second look. They finally put up some pics that shows what is going on. You probably don’t remember, back then the pics were awful, awful, awful (the bathroom pic as seen below is a leftover from the bad ol’ pic days.)

12786 Friendship Rd, Chilhowie, VA – $286,000 $195,000

I want! I want! I want! Built in 1765 by Colonel Patton (a Google search of Colonel James Patton results in interesting info), as a home and fortress against Indians. Three stories with four huge fireplaces. All original doors, floors, walls, fireplaces.

I originally posted this back in May ‘09. They finally put up some bigger and more pics of the house and reduced the price. Decided to bring this one up a notch to reintroduce it to you folks. 3 beds, 2.5 baths, 2934 square feet. I think this is the street view. Looks country to me. I could retire here…in 50 or so years.
